Anikó is a special education teacher and economist, associate professor and vice dean for international affairs at ELTE Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Needs Education. She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2019, on the topic of self-determination for people with high support needs. Her research projects are related to participatory teaching, participatory research, and user involvement in social innovation. She is the co-leader of the Disability Studies Doctoral Workshop and co-founder of the Disability Studies and Social Innovation Lab.

Anikó has been a member of the editorial board of the Hungarian Journal of Disability Studies and Special Education since 2013.
