Julia is an Associate Professor of Social Work at the School of Social Work, Lund University, Sweden. She earned her PhD in Social Work from the University of Gothenburg, where her research focused on sexuality issues within personal assistance services. Since then, her work on sexuality and disability has broadened to include e.g., international perspectives, notably through the Marie Curie postdoctoral project Sexual Citizenship and Disability – Implications for Policy, Practice and Theory. She recently completed a project exploring barriers to sexual health, well-being, relationships, dating, and parenthood among individuals with various disabilities and/or chronic illnesses in Sweden. Her current research centers on the Swedish disability movement, with a focus on democracy, representation, and digitalization.
Since 2025, Julia has been a member of the editorial board of the Hungarian Journal of Disability Studies and Special Education. |
