We believe that people with learning difficulties and people with intellectual disabilities need to read literature. The right to access culture, including literature, is underlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In our case study, first we present the problem situation. There is no tradition yet in Hungary of making literature accessible to people with high support needs. We analyse the rules on how to make easyto-understand information, especially with regard to the rules for the adaption of literature. After that, we give a selection of good practices in Hungary, Finland and Germany. The study concludes with a brief examination of the critique of the reframing of literature into easy-to-understand versions.
