“I am just like you…”

This study is intended to give the reader a deeper insight into a CODA person’s life. I was born as a hearing child of deaf parents. This duality defined and followed every moment of my life. For me, family is not only the close family, but in a certain sense the Deaf community is also my family: I feel at home among them. Sign language is my mother tongue (first language), I am part of their larger world. I started from this environment and returned to them by taking a roundabout way.
