Disability studies is a creative critical space. It creates the opportunity for mapping out the phenomena and conditions of our complex world. Moreover, it helps us to understand how and to what end knowledge is being used by the powers to be and by Capital. It can identify manipulative techniques as well as uncover areas of resistance, and work out empowering alternatives for our (own personal) sustainable future. This text is intended to describe the elements of the polycrisis that has unfolded in the 21st century and to seek ways of thinking and living within its context. An attempt is made to achieve this by demonstrating the mistakes typically made in everyday (and scientific) thinking, and by highlighting individual and collective solutions, bearing in mind that it is not what we read that is important, but what the readings trigger in us as well.
